S W B K is design firm in Korea, co-founded by
Sukwoo Lee and Bongkyu Song in 2008. Services
offered by SWBK are wide ranging, from designing
life style, IT based products to consulting company’s
brand and service design. We take human-centered,
design-based approach and our work is done in
consideration of the user-centered experience by
analyzing their needs, behaviors, and desires. We
have won globally well-known awards such as Red
dot, IF, IDEA, GOOD Design Japan.
Co-Founder, Design Director
After graduating from Hongik University with a degree in Industrial Design,
Sukwoo Lee went to work for Samsung Electronics as a Product Designer.
Sukwoo moved to U.S, where he worked for Fuse project and then he worked on Teague (established in 1926),
where he took charge of various projects ranging from Aviation related products to consumer electronics as an Industrial Designer.
In 2008, He joined Motorola as a Global Creative Leader and Industrial Principal in Seoul, Korea.
He conducted innovation with his clientele during this period includes highly recognized companies such as
Microsoft, Coca-Cola, BMW, Hewlett-Packard,Dell, Panasonic, Samsung Electronics, LG, Kimberly-Clark, Daelim, SKT, CJ, Amore Pacific, Siemens.
Sukwoo Lee has received awards from several international design organizations such as
IDEA, IF, Red dot, I.D. Magazine Awards and Lightouch International Lighting Award.
He was introduced in design medias such as Gestalten(Germany), Axis (Japan), I.D Magazine(U.S) and so on.
He is currently a founding member and Creative Director of S W B K and Matter & Matter.
He was selected twice as the next generation design leader from Korea Institute of design promotion in year 2006 and 2007.
And Since 2008, he has been teaching Industrial design major at The Korean National University of Arts
and leading product design studio class at Hongik University.
In 2011, he was selected as a panel for Pin Up design award by Korea Association of Industrial Designer.
From 2012 to 2013 consecutively, he was selected as the next generation design leader from Forbes Korea.
In 2012, he was selected as the top ten Korean-designer from ‘Jungang-ilbo’.
In 2013, December, he was selected as the designer of the year for living category, in ‘Design’ which is the design magazine in Korea.
In 2013, he was selected as a panel for the Audi and the KCDF award and had a role in directing the KCDF exhibition.
홍익대 산업디자인과를 졸업하고 삼성전자에서 Product Designer로 근무했다.
미국으로 건너가 Fuseproject를 거쳐 1926년에 설립된 Teague에서 IT 기기 및 Life style 프러덕트부터 Aviation Product 분야의 산업 디자인을 담당했다.
2008년부터는Motorola에서Global Industrial Design Principal로 Motorola 글로벌 제품의 Creative Lead 역할을 수행하였다.
Microsoft, Coca-Cola, BMW, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Panasonic, Samsung Electronics, LG, Kimberly-Clark, 대림 e-편한 세상, SKT, CJ, 아모레 퍼시픽, Siemens
등의 클라이언트와 함께 혁신적인 가치를 이끌어 왔으며 IF, IDEA, Red-dot, I.D Magazine, Lightouch 와 같은 국제적인 Design Award에서 수상하였으며,

현재는 SWBK와 Matter & Matter 의 공동 대표로써 브랜드와 디자인 전략부터 Industrial Design분야의 컨설팅을 리드하고 있다.

2008년부터 홍익대학교에서 제품 디자인 스튜디오를 현재는 한국종합예술학교에서 산업 디자인을 가르치고 있다.

2012-2013년에는 2회 연속 Forbes Korea의 대한민국 이끌 차세대 리더,
2012년 중앙일보 선정 ‘대한민국 대표 K-디자이너 10인’에 선정되었다.
2012년 12월에는 월간 디자인 ‘2012’ 리빙 부문 올해의 디자이너로 선정되었다.
2013년에는 아우디와 한국 공예 디자인 문화 진흥원(KCDF) 공모전의 심사워원이였으며, KCDF의 전시 디렉팅을 진행하였다.
Co-Founder, Design Director
BongKyu Song was graduated from Kookmin University, majored in Industrial Design.
He worked for Samsung Electronics Mobile Communication Division as a product designer.
While working at Samsung, he lead the design for the first tablet, the galaxy tab.
In 2008, he independently established a design studio, SDESIGNUNIT.
In this design studio, mainly he designed product, lighting, furniture design
and also ran a research about the interaction between the object and the environment.
In 2007 to 2008, he directed and exhibited the project, “the undesigned objects- UNDESIGNED”.
In 2012, he directed the exhibition, Sulhwa Culture which Amore Pacific supervised.
Not only that but also worked with the Global clients including Samsung Electronics, Siemens, Kimberly-Clark Professional, Dell and etc,
mainly ran projects for advance design and design identity, which was based on design and brand strategy.
Also, he worked for design consulting which was based on user experience design with Amore Pacific, Daelim Industry,
Coway/Cosmetic, CJ, LG, Design House, KT, SK, Jeil Industry, Seoul Arts Center and more clients.
He received several awards from varies of international design competitions including IF, Red dot and Good design Japan.
Moreover, he was introduced at media in Italy(Super Studio), Germany(Cebit), Japan(100% Tokyo), U.K(TENT London).
Currently, he is leading SWBK and Matter & Matter as a co founder.
Mainly consulting on product design concept development to brand design strategy and leading a consulting for service design section as well.
In 2009, he was selected as the Next Generation Design Leader by KIDP.
And Currently he is instructing students for industrial design major at Kookmin University and Hongik University.
He was also invited as a guest speaker to give lecture at Seoul Design Plaza, Seoul Natioanl University, Ehwa University,
Sejong University, Gaewon University, Pechakucha, KIDP and Samsung Design Membership.
He became an advisory member of Seoul Design Committee, since 2012.
In 2013, he processed a design consulting under supervision of Cultural Heritage
Administration for creating a cultural and modern design with Traditional Crafts Artists.
In 2013, he was selected as the Design Jury for Audi Design Competition.
In 2012, he was selected as a “Top 10 designers that represent Korea” from Jung-Ang News,
“the Designer of Living Design in 2012″ from Mdesign and
in 2013, he was selected as “the young leader whom will lead Korea” from Forbes Korea.
국민대 공업디자인과를 졸업하고, 삼성전자에서 글로벌 스마트폰의 제품 디자이너로 근무하면서 안드로이드 최초의 태블릿인 갤럭시 탭 디자인을 Lead 하였다.
2008년 디자인 스튜디오 SDESIGNUNIT을 설립해 생활 제품, 조명, 가구 디자인과 사물과 환경에 연관성에 대한 리서치를 진행했으며,
2007-2008 “디자인 되지 않은 사물들-UNDESIGNED” 프로젝트를 기획/전시 하였다.
2012년에는 아모레 퍼시픽에서 주관하는 설화문화전 전시 아트 디렉팅을 하였다.
Samsung Electronics, Siemens, Kimberly-Clark Professional, Dell등의 글로벌 클라이언트와 디자인과 브랜드 전략을 기반으로 한
디자인 아이덴티티와 선행디자인 프로젝트를 수행하였으며, 아모레 퍼시픽, 대림 산업, 코웨이/코스메틱, CJ, LG, Design House, KT, SK,
제일 모직, 예술의 전당 등의 클라이언트와 경험 디자인을 기반으로 한 디자인 컨설팅을 수행하였다.
IF, IDEA, Red-dot, Good design Japan 국제적인 디자인 어워드에서 수상하였으며,
Frame(Netherlands), Gestalten(Gernamy), ICON(U.K) 등의 디자인 미디어에 소개되었다.
현재는 SWBK와 Matter&Matter 공동 대표로써 산업 디자인부터 브랜드 디자인 전략 및 서비스 디자인 분야의 컨설팅을 리드하고 있다.
2009년 KIDP에서 차세대 디자인 리더로 선정 되었으며, 국민대, 홍익대에서 Industrial Design을 가르치고 있다.
서울 디자인 플라자, 서울 대학교, 이화여자 대학교, 세종 대학교, 계원 대학교, 페차쿠자, KIDP 등에서 객원 강연을 하였다.
2012년부터 서울시 디자인 자문위원으로 활동하고 있으며, 2013년 문화재청에서 주관하는 전통 공예 이수자들과 함께
전통 공예와 현대적 디자인에 대한 컨설팅을 진행하였다. 2013년에는 아우디 디자인 공모전의 심사위원으로 위촉되었고,
2012년 중앙일보 선정 ‘대한민국 대표 K-디자이너 10인’ 그리고 월간 디자인 ‘2012’ 리빙 부문 올해의 디자이너,
2013년 포브스 코리아의 대한민국을 이끌 젊은 리더로 선정되었다.
